Big Ideas Chapter 2 Lesson 1 Concept Pgs. 1-3 require students to match up items in two groups and answer if the groups are equal with a yes/no. These pgs. are in practice mode so students can check their answer. These pgs. serve as practice for the students. Teachers should ensure students know how to check their work. Pgs. 4-6 require students to make an equal group, count the items, and write the number to show how many. Teacher will need to review these pages and grade for this standard. Pgs. 7-12 require students to match up items in two groups and answer if the groups are equal with a yes/no. These pgs. are in assessment mode, and will be graded automatically. Teacher review will still be necessary. Pg. 13 - This page requires students to count items in two group and determine if the groups are equal or not equal. To answer the question, students should tap the microphone to record their answer and provide an explanation of their thinking. Teachers will need to listen to student recordings as this is an essential part to consider when grading for understanding.
